Philip began studying music at a very young age, developing a wide-ranging musical background. He studied and performed classical piano, sang in award-winning choirs, accompanied vocal ensembles, and played guitar in bands spanning popular, jazz, and rock styles. While pursuing a Bachelor of Music at Wheaton Conservatory of Music in Illinois, he had the privilege of studying under Juilliard graduate and concert pianist Dr. William Phemister. There he also learned from other outstanding professors who helped him build a strong, comprehensive musical foundation. After graduating, Philip returned to his native California to teach private lessons. He continues to teach while also working on recording projects in his home studio.
